Community healthcare providers
work with  families and school nurses to control asthma

Medical providers play a vital role in keeping kids learning

Families and school nurses rely on the guidance of medical providers for help in optimizing an approach to controlling asthma.

Kids with asthma often miss school, or don’t sleep well because of poorly controlled asthma.

Your expertise helps improve asthma control so kids can spend more time in class and on the playground.

School nurses request that families ask the medical provider to:

  • Assess student asthma control.
  • Assess and coach for accurate inhaler technique and discuss medication use at school.

  • Provide additional inhaler(s) dedicated for school use (with spacer or other equipment if needed).
