1. Counters: Know how many doses are left
Most asthma inhalers have a counter on them to help you know how many doses are left before it needs to be replaced.
2. Request two (or more) inhalers
When seeing your healthcare provider, be sure to request one quick relief inhaler for each home where the child spends a lot of time, and one quick relief inhaler for school.
3. Store asthma meds together
Keep asthma medications together somewhere that is easy to get to.
4. Plan to replace inhalers regularly
Depending on dosing of your controller inhaler, it may need to be replaced every month.
